If you drive a vehicle or operate a piece of equipment every day, a hydraulic hose or fitting is being used to operate what you are using. Some items that we use on a daily basis may have only two hydraulic hoses, while others may go into the hundreds.
Proper maintenance of these items is essential in eliminating expense repairs or unexpected downtime. There is a reason when your mechanic recommends a power steering flush or brake flush on your vehicle from time to time? The chemical composition of power steering fluid and brake fluid is to absorb water molecules from the working pumps and hoses in hydraulic systems.
At CDI, we provide hydraulic filtration kits for a large variety of equipment that our customers use. From the Railroad industry to the construction market and beyond.
We also offer our customers leading technology products to reduce their TCO. Contact us here for more information on how we can assist you.
At Central Diesel Inc, we believe in long term working relationships with our customers. Every day we solve our customer’s problems, whether they be short term or long term. We listen to our customer’s concerns and we research and provide them with solutions that will have a positive effect on their TCO over a period of time.
Each year, we commit to training and tooling to meet the expectations of our customers. In the first quarter of this year, we raised the level our service to our customer base by being one of the first to achieve “World Wide Service standards” by Kubota.
By also providing a 14 month warranty on all the service work we do to factory specifications, we provide a level of satisfaction to our customer base that leads the industry.
Performing day to day vehicle maintenance requires making the proper decisions on filters and engine oil being used. While most filter manufacturers promote their products to meet or exceed the engine manufacturers requirements, the question that needs to be asked is: “Which requirement are the engine manufacturers following and are these filter replacements meeting the current updated requirements?”
Example: When Bosch, Denso or Delphi supplies a CR fuel system to an engine manufacturer they supply the engine manufacturer with the following information:
A) If you want the fuel system to be able to last trouble free for 200,000 miles under normal maintenance intervals: Use a 10 Micron filter as your final filter to the vehicle fuel system.
B) If you want the fuel system to be able to last trouble free for 300,000 miles under normal maintenance intervals: Use a 2 Micron filter as your final filter to the vehicle fuel system.
Repairing a contaminated CR fuel system on an over the road vehicle can cost $6,000.00 to $12,000.00. Performing proper preventive maintenance on your vehicle or equipment will reduce the possibility of these devastating issues affecting your TCO.
As a factory authorized CR repair center for all the manufacturers, we can offer you our expertise (over 200 years of experience) and products in assisting you in maintaining your vehicle or equipment properly. Contact us for more information on proper vehicle maintenance.

While it may seem obvious that maintaining your fuel system is very important, many times customers simply ignore this fact. We like to notify our customers about their fuel systems when we feel that there may be a problem. For instance, we know that since ultra low sulfur fuel has been introduced, there have been a number of unforeseen repairs on fuel tanks, lines and even the diesel engine itself. ULSD has a lower lubricity which may cause unnecessarily wear .
The new fuels can cause internal diesel injector deposit if left untreated. These kinds of deposits slow the response of moving parts which can result in the loss of control injection event timing or fuel delivered. And no one wants a loss of power, especially when it’s needed most. We highly recommend that fuel systems be maintained at regular intervals, and that extra precautions be taken when using ULSD.
Below are some images we have of our customer’s fuel systems that weren’t maintained correctly. Our expertise with diesel engines and fuel injection systems make us highly capable in helping eliminating these potential problems with your equipment. Contact us today to see what we can do for you.
This illustrates a customer not maintaining their fuel system. The customer was notified many times to check his fuel system for water. They did not and it resulted in the complete fuel system failing on this piece of equipment. $8000 later, and the machine was up and running properly. A simple inspection could saved them both money and a headache.
The following picture illustrates a fuel system not being maintained properly and causing premature damage to the fuel injection pump. Notice the rust and pit marks.
The last picture again shows poor maintenance of the fuel system.
