  1. Proper Maintenance is Essential To Eliminate Vehicle Downtime

If you drive a vehicle or operate a piece of equipment every day, a hydraulic hose or fitting is being used to operate what you are using. Some items that we use on a daily basis may have only two hydraulic hoses, while others may go into the hundreds.

Proper maintenance of these items is essential in eliminating expense repairs or unexpected downtime. There is a reason when your mechanic recommends a power steering flush or brake flush on your vehicle from time to time? The chemical composition of power steering fluid and brake fluid is to absorb water molecules from the working pumps and hoses in hydraulic systems.

At CDI, we provide hydraulic filtration kits for a large variety of equipment that our customers use. From the Railroad industry to the construction market and beyond.

We also offer our customers leading technology products to reduce their TCO. Contact us here for more information on how we can assist you.

  2. The Importance of Vehicle Maintenance

Performing day to day vehicle maintenance requires making the proper decisions on filters and engine oil being used.  While most filter manufacturers promote their products to meet or exceed the engine manufacturers requirements, the question that needs to be asked is: “Which requirement are the engine manufacturers following and are these filter replacements meeting the current updated requirements?”

    Vehicle Maintenance for diesel engines

Example:  When Bosch, Denso or Delphi supplies a CR fuel system to an engine manufacturer they supply the engine manufacturer with the following information:

    A) If you want the fuel system to be able to last trouble free for 200,000 miles under normal maintenance intervals: Use a 10 Micron filter as your final filter to the vehicle fuel system.

    B) If you want the fuel system to be able to last trouble free for 300,000 miles under normal maintenance intervals: Use a 2 Micron filter as your final filter to the vehicle fuel system.

Repairing a contaminated CR fuel system on an over the road vehicle can cost $6,000.00 to $12,000.00.  Performing proper preventive maintenance on your vehicle or equipment will reduce the possibility of these devastating issues affecting your TCO.

As a factory authorized CR repair center for all the manufacturers, we can offer you our expertise (over 200 years of experience) and products in assisting you in maintaining your vehicle or equipment properly.  Contact us for more information on proper vehicle maintenance.

From everyone at Central Diesel Inc., we would like to take the time to thank you for your business and wish you Happy Holidays!  2016 has been a great year, and we are looking forward to an even better 2017!  Below are a few of our highlights of 2016, and some of the events we are excited for in 2017.

One thing in 2016 we are very proud of is being the first and only distributor in North America to pass their service audit from Deutz Deutz Gold StatusAG.  The results of this audit gave CDI “Gold” status on our key performance indicators.  Part of the audit included a check of our Deutz tools, training and service vehicles to make sure they meet the Deutz customer’s expectations.   We would like to thank all our employees for helping us achieve these standards, because “Our Greatest assets are our customers and our employees.”

Other highlights in 2016 included the launch of our new website and blog which will help us better serve the needs of our customers, and communicate useful information. We also attended many tradeshows and equipment shows this year where we met many great people and were able to share information about our products and services.

In 2017 we look forward to providing the excellent customer service our customers are accustomed to.   Keep your eye on our blog in January where we will be offering maintenance tips that are important to help extend the life of your vehicle.  Also we will be continuing to attend tradeshows and events with the first show on our 2017 calendar being the HDAW Conference in Las Vegas from 1/23-27/17.

For the latest up-to-date company news and information be sure to follow us on Twitter and LinkedIn, and please contact us if you would like more information about our products and services.  Have a Happy New Year and we look forward to working with you in 2017!

  4. CDI’s Commitment to Quality

In our September blog, we mentioned that “Clean Diesel Engines” were leading the way to a cleaner environment around the world in all market segments.

Deutz has been one of the leaders in this break-through technology, to meet emission regulations today and into the future. Rudolf Diesel, the inventor of the diesel engine, was one of the founding fathers of Deutz over 150 years ago.

Deutz continues this legacy by offering their customers initial cost effective solutions and reduced total cost of ownership expenses compared to their competition.

As a distributor and partner of Deutz, CDI is committed to offering our customers the best service solutions today and into the future. To meet these obligations, CDI has to continually invest in training and tooling to meet the high standards of Deutz and our customer’s expectations.

CDI commits $50,000 To $150,000 each year to training and equipment to meet and exceed these standards for our customers. CDI verifies this commitment by supplying our customers with a 14 month unlimited hours or miles warranty on service work.

Our commitment to a high service standard is reflected in our standing with Deutz Corporation:

At Central Diesel, Inc., it is our mission to be a quality supplier of diesel engines, parts and services that offer unsurpassed solutions to our customers.  Besides being a product distributor, we have also been a specialist in fuel injection since our company was created in 1972.  While manufacturers have come and gone over the 40+ years we have been in existence, we are always working to be factory authorized for the products we test and repair.

To make sure our customers receive the best service available from us, we are always working to improve our capabilities.  At Central Diesel we are continually investing in personnel, equipment, training, technologies and practices to supply our customers with the best service available.   An example of how these investments have led to change over the years is how in 1972, Central Diesel rebuilt a fuel system to factory specifications and warrantied that fuel system for 90 days.  Today when a fuel system is rebuilt by us to factory specifications, we warranty that system for 14 months.  This big increase from 90 days is because we know the quality of our work, and that the fuel system, if properly installed and maintained by the customer or end user will last at least that long. In most cases, we do not see the fuel system again for many years or sometimes with a different owner.

As of 2016, we are factory authorized for the following manufacturers:

    • Stanadyne
    • Delphi (CR Fuel Systems)
    • Bosch (CR Fuel Systems)
    • Yanmar
    • Denso (CR Fuel Systems)
    • Zexel
    • Alliant Power
    • Siemens

In addition to our fuel injection and diesel engine services, we also custom build generator sets, irrigation pumps, hydraulic pump packages and power units.   Our services include rebuilding, parts and other custom services for the diesel fuel injection markets.  Visit our website to learn about our full capabilities and offerings.
